Travelling to Szczecin

By plane

The nearest airport is in Goleniow 45 km from Szczecin city centre. The Polish Airlines LOT provides shuttle buses between the airport and the city centre (prior reservation required, valid with the flight ticket). The ride takes about 50 minutes and ends at Al. Wyzwolenia 17 in front of the LOT office. Alternatively, for PLN 49.00 per person (minimum 3 persons), tourists can take a minibus running to the bus station in Szczecin. The taxi fare with the Airport Taxi Group is PLN 100-150. You can also access the airport by rail. The railway terminal is situated next to the airport and a trip to Szczecin takes about 40 minutes. Two Berlin airports (Tegel, Schoenefeld) are located about 150 km from Szczecin. There are many shuttle buses services transferring visitors from Berlin airports to Szczecin. e.g.:


By car

The most convenient way of reaching the city by car from the western part of Europe is to take the A11 Motorway from Berlin, or the A20 Motorway from Lubeck.


By train

Visitors arriving by train can choose from a wide selection of railway connections of Polish and German trains.


Visa Issues

Since December 21, 2007, Poland is part of the Schengen Area, a zone without controls on internal borders which comprises of 28 countries. Third-country nationals may enter Poland if they are in possession of a valid travel document and a visa (if required). Council Regulation (EC) No 539/2001 includes the lists of third countries whose nationals must possess valid visas to cross external borders, and of countries whose nationals are exempt from this obligation.

If you need a visa you should contact relevant consular post in order to obtain the application as well as information on the electronic registration of the application and visa fees.
